Women in Waste Management Project- Linden Trust Fund
The project trained up to 100 homemakers in Linden to effectively manage household waste (sorting, composting, reduced use of plastic bags, recycling and reuse). Training was done in four, 2-day workshops. The training empowered the attendees to understand the role of households in the waste management cycle and to make wise choices that would ultimately result in a reduction of waste produced in Linden.
The premise was that an informed homemaker will create an informed household and make informed choices with respect to waste.
The post workshop monitoring and subsequent phone surveys/interviews showed that most participants were applying some of the knowledge gained and that there were changes in household waste management practices.
