To help deal with mining violations, mining communities should establish monitoring committees.

In my blog comment to the Stabroek News Editorial (ILLEGAL MINING) of 27th Nov., 2020,

https://www.stabroeknews.com/2020/11/27/opinion/editorial/illegal-mining-2/

I stated: "As part of the solution for illegal mining and mining practices, It has been proposed (and briefly tried by GGMC in the distant past) that communities should establish local monitoring committees. These committees should be funded and supported by govt and be given legal authority of some sort. They may extend membership to miners who operate within or around the community."
